- Description
Parent-Child Care (PC-CARE) is an evidence-based parenting intervention for caregivers and children aged 1-12 years developed by Susan Timmer, Brandi Hawk, and Lindsay Armendariz. This 7-week treatment supports families as they develop stronger relationships and learn how to manage big feelings and challenging behaviors. Core components of the treatment include weekly assessments, teaching, live in-the-moment coaching, and daily practice. PC-CARE certification involves three components: Phase 1 PC-CARE Skills Basics, Phase 2 PC-CARE Comprehensive, and Phase 3 PC-CARE Certification.
Phase 2
During this 2-day training, participants will complete the Phase 2 PC-CARE Comprehensive component of certification.
Through a mixture of teaching, discussion, and live role-plays, they will learn to code parent-child interactions using the PC-CARE coding system, teach and coach the PC-CARE skills, and develop treatment and sessions plans that are family specific while maintaining fidelity to the model.
Upon completion, they will be ready to participate in Phase 3: PC-CARE Certification.
Trainees can receive 12 APA Continuing Education credits upon completion.
Attendance Policy
Participants must attend the program in its entirety. Participants that arrive Late, Leave early, or return late from breaks will not receive any offered continued education. There is no partial CE credit. We are happy to provide accommodation. Please contact Red Leaf at least 14 days prior to the event to request accommodation.
