- Description
Parent-Child Care (PC-CARE) is an evidence-based parenting intervention for caregivers and children aged 1-12 years developed by Susan Timmer, Brandi Hawk, and Lindsay Armendariz. This 7-week treatment supports families as they develop stronger relationships and learn how to manage big feelings and challenging behaviors. Core components of the treatment include weekly assessments, teaching, live in-the-moment coaching, and daily practice. PC-CARE certification involves three components: Phase 1 PC-CARE Skills Basics, Phase 2 PC-CARE Comprehensive, and Phase 3 PC-CARE Certification.
This selection is for Phase 3: Certification
Phase 3
The Phase 3 PC-CARE Certification component of training offers individual training and consultation with a PC-CARE trainer while participants provide PC-CARE to their clients.
This phase of training typically takes 2-6 months depending on how many PC-CARE clients participants have ready to start treatment.
Participants will receive 7 30-minute individual calls with a trainer, one before each PC-CARE session to ensure they are fully prepared for sessions. The trainer will either join PC-CARE sessions live to provide live support and feedback or will review a video of PC-CARE sessions to provide feedback. The goal of session review is to support the participant's PC-CARE learning and to sign off competencies that show they can do PC-CARE with fidelity.
Once the trainer signs off all PC-CARE competencies and participants graduate at least 1 client, they will receive their PC-CARE Provider Certification.
PLEASE NOTE: The date for this selection WILL NOT be the date you start. You and your trainer will work together to determine what will work best for each other's schedules.
